Fiverr Fee Calculator

Fiverr keeps 20% of every payment you earn — orders and tips alike — so a $100 Gig pays you $80, and a $350 package pays you $280. Enter an order amount below to see your real earnings, or switch to reverse mode to find the price to set when you need a specific amount from a sale.

How much does Fiverr take from sellers?

Fiverr takes 20% of everything a seller earns — Gig orders, custom offers, Gig extras and tips. There is no fixed fee and no tier: a $50 order pays you $40, a $100 order pays $80, and a $1,000 order pays $800. Buyers separately pay Fiverr a service fee at checkout, which is added on their side and does not reduce your 80%.

How it works

Fiverr’s fee could not be simpler, which is exactly why it surprises people — there is no sliding scale, no threshold and no category exception. If you searched for a Fiverr fee calculator, a Fiverr commission calculator or “how much does Fiverr take”, here is the whole system:

Fiverr fee = order amount × 20%
You receive = order amount × 80%

The 20% is deducted from every completed order, every Gig extra, every custom offer and every tip, at the moment the order completes. Your cleared balance is therefore always 80% of your sales. Working backwards (the reverse mode above): price = amount you want ÷ 0.8 — multiply your target by 1.25. To earn $100 from a Gig, the Gig must be priced at $125.

Comparing your options

For Fiverr vs Upwork: Fiverr’s flat 20% is the highest standard freelancer fee among the major platforms — double Upwork’s standard 10%. On $1,000 of identical work you would keep $800 on Fiverr and $900 on Upwork. Fiverr’s defence is demand: its marketplace sends buyers to your Gig page. Run the other side of the numbers in the Upwork fee calculator before deciding where to push your services.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Fiverr take from a $100 order?

Fiverr takes $20 from a $100 order, and you receive $80. The same 20% applies at every price: $1 from a $5 order, $100 from a $500 order. There are no thresholds where the rate falls, unlike some marketplaces.

Does Fiverr take 20% of tips too?

Yes. Tips are treated as seller earnings and the same 20% is deducted — a $25 tip puts $20 in your balance. This is worth knowing when a happy buyer offers a generous tip: a fifth of it goes to Fiverr, exactly as if it were part of the order price.

Why does the buyer pay more than my Gig price?

Because Fiverr adds a buyer service fee at checkout, on top of your price. It does not reduce what you earn — you still receive 80% of your Gig price — but the buyer sees a higher total. When buyers compare your Gig with a service sold elsewhere, they are comparing your price plus Fiverr’s buyer fee.

How do I set my Fiverr price to earn a target amount?

Divide the amount you want by 0.8 (equivalently, multiply by 1.25). To earn $80, price at $100; to earn $200, price at $250; to earn $500, price at $625. The reverse mode above does it for any figure, and it is the only reliable way to price Gig packages on Fiverr.

Is Fiverr’s 20% fee negotiable or lower for top sellers?

No. The 20% seller fee is flat across all seller levels, categories and order sizes. Pro and Top Rated sellers get visibility and support benefits, but the commission percentage is identical. Your only lever is price — which is why the reverse calculation matters.
